Cabarrus Arts Council
The Cabarrus Arts Council is the only organization in Cabarrus County with the mission to support all of the arts in the community. Arts council grants are available to support arts organizations, community arts programs, educational arts programs, and individual artists. Programs that the arts council provides augment the education that our children receive in school and enrich the lives of all of our citizens. The council works in partnership with the county, municipalities, other non-profits and businesses to provide wonderful opportunities for people of all ages, races, and socio-economic backgrounds. Founded in 1980, the Cabarrus Arts Council has served the citizens of Cabarrus County for more than two decades. North Carolina is known nationwide for its professional system of local arts councils which include the state arts council and 86 local arts councils working together to support all of the arts in North Carolina.

Old Courthouse Theatre

The Old Courthouse Theatre's 2008/2009 season will be its 33rd season of quality, award-winning community theater. The season will be announced in early April, with tickets going on sale at that time. One of the highlights is the Annual New Year's Eve Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre, held in the 5th floor Ballroom in Lowe’s Motor Speedway's elegant Smith Tower. The annual event draws audiences from North & South Carolina, Virginia, and as far away as Pennsylvania. Eastern Cabarrus Historic Museum
Built in 1855, the museum is on the National Register of Historic Places. It features a glimpse of Cabarrus County life from 1850 to the early 1900’s. Exhibits are displayed in theme rooms with Civil War artifacts and seasonal exhibits.

Reed Gold Mine
Twelve-year old Conrad Reed made the first gold discovery in America at Reed Gold Mine in 1799. The 17-pound nugget was used as a doorstop for three years before his father sold it for $3.50. You can tour the Visitor’s Center, the restored underground tunnels and reconstructed stamp mill, hike and explore the Talking Rocks Trail, see gold and mining exhibits, and pan for gold. Reed Gold Mine is a National Historic Landmark.

Cabarrus County Courthouse
Erected in 1876 as the original courthouse for Cabarrus County, it now houses an extensive library used for genealogical and historical research. The facility is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Downtown Concord
This is a city for anyone who loves history with beautifully restored Victorian homes, one of kind shopping, restaurants and coffee houses, a historic courthouse, and a beautiful Memorial Garden as well as historical home tours. Mount Pleasant Historic District On the Register of Historic Places, it offers lovely old homes, churches, museums and mills.

Memorial Garden
In the heart of historic Concord, visit the three acre 1,804 garden, restored for all to see and feel the beauty of earth, trees, and flowers.

Bost Grist Mill

Bost Grist Mill has been serving the surrounding counties and communities since the early 1800’s. They specialize in the packaging of traditional cornmeal and grits while sharing the Bost Grist Mill’s rich history and importance to Cabarrus County.

Rocky River Vineyards

The dream of Rocky River Vineyards was nurtured in our minds and hearts until 2003 when we planted our first vine. We chose to plant the muscadine grape, which is indigenous to North Carolina, and produces a sweet table wine.
