Made in Cabarrus Docuseries Wins Multiple Telly Awards
Concord, NC – June 9, 2026 – The Cabarrus Economic Development Corporation (Cabarrus EDC) is proud to announce that its Made in Cabarrus docuseries has received multiple honors in the 47th Annual Telly Awards, one of the world’s premier competitions recognizing excellence in video and television content across all screens.
Produced in partnership with Market Street Studios and Perry Productions and sponsored by Lilly, the series earned a Silver Telly Award in the Online Series – Non-Scripted category and a Bronze Telly Award in the Non-Broadcast – Manufacturing & Industrial category.
This year’s Telly Awards received more than 13,000 entries worldwide, with winners including organizations such as Paramount TV, Warner Bros. Discovery, FOX Entertainment, TED, Sony Music, Harvard Business School, and ABC News.
“From the beginning, we knew the Made in Cabarrus docuseries was an important project because it tells the real story of our community’s economic backbone,” said Page Castrodale, former Executive Director of Cabarrus EDC, during the project’s production.
“The heart of the EDC’s work has always been about manufacturers in our community—the things they make, the people they employ, and the way they give back. This series brings those stories to life, showcasing not just products, but the pride, innovation, and impact behind them. I’m thrilled to see that work recognized.”
The series featured a diverse group of manufacturers from across Cabarrus County, including Complete Design & Packaging, Corning, Ketchie, Lilly, and SafeWaze. The participating companies ranged in size from fewer than 30 employees to more than 800, demonstrating the breadth and strength of the county’s manufacturing sector. The videos continue to serve as valuable tools for workforce recruitment, community engagement, and economic development marketing efforts.
“One of the greatest values of this project is the visibility it provides to our existing industries,” said Gretchen Carson, President and CEO of Cabarrus EDC. “Economic development isn’t just about attracting new investment; it’s also about celebrating and supporting the companies that are already here. These videos help manufacturers tell their stories, connect with future employees, and showcase why Cabarrus County is such a great place to do business.”
A key element of the project for Lisa Perry of Perry Productions, who served as the project’s director, was weaving together shared stories from manufacturers across Cabarrus County, with people at the center of the narrative. While each company has its own unique history and products, the series reveals common themes of opportunity, purpose, and pride in the work being done every day by the individuals who power the industry.
“The vision behind this series was to help people see beyond the products being made and connect with the people making them,” said Perry. “As we traveled from company to company, I was inspired by the pride people took in their work, the opportunities they had built for themselves and their families, and the impact those careers have on our community.”
For Garrett Price and Dillon Mangum with Market Street Studios who served as creative directors, the project represented an opportunity to showcase businesses through a distinctly local perspective while collaborating with organizations committed to strengthening the community.
“As a local video production company, it meant a lot to us that this project stayed local from top to bottom. The authenticity of the stories and collaboration among local organizations helped make this series incredibly rewarding to produce,” said Mangum and Price.
This recognition reinforces Cabarrus County’s reputation as a hub for advanced manufacturing, innovation, and talent while helping raise awareness of career opportunities and the companies investing in the region’s future.
